VNA Meals on Wheels is so much more than just the hot, nutritious meals we deliver every weekday. It’s about kindness, compassion and friendship. Maria, a VNA Meals on Wheels client for some time, knows what it’s like to provide comfort and kindness to those in need. Serving those who had fallen on hard times, Maria and her late husband prepared meals and offered friendship to those without a home or food. She recalls one special Thanksgiving years ago when she and her husband prepared a big turkey dinner with all the fixings to share with these new friends. Food and friendship—what Maria once gave to others, she now receives herself.

As we gather around our tables this holiday season with our family, friends and loved ones, take a moment to remember those who are alone. Remember the people who won’t attend a holiday feast or celebrate with family. Remember people like Maria.

We did it again!  Thanks to the valuable feedback of our dedicated staff, VNA is ranked #17 in The Dallas Morning News TOP 100 Places to Work. The anonymous employee survey utilized by The News which generates the ranking, Energage, surveyed 154,197 workers from 330 local companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to gauge how employees felt about the company they work for.  It helps companies understand where they do well and where improvements can be made.  It also honors the top employers who provide the best work environment.   For the third time, VNA is honored to be ranked among the very best!  I believe this reflects the dedicated team we have who enjoy the time spent with co-workers and the thousands of people we care for each and every day.
