VNA is Lending a Hand and Meals to Help Texans Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

Dear Friend,

Our hearts go out to our fellow Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey.  In 2005, VNA mobilized to help disaster efforts locally in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina by feeding volunteers and evacuees.  Today, we are working with our fellow community partners to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. 

As donors and volunteers, you are the heartbeat of VNA and I know that you are eager to extend compassion and care to those impacted by the storm. There are so many immediate and future needs and North Texans are answering the call to help. I want to invite you to join VNA in our efforts to help in the most impactful way we can. 

As the largest single-site provider of Meals on Wheels in the country, we are focusing our aid on what we do best—feeding people in need.  We are working closely with disaster relief efforts locally to identify food needs for evacuees and volunteers at shelters.  Additionally, we are providing area food pantries with senior-friendly, shelf-stable and frozen meals to distribute to incoming evacuees seeking assistance at food pantries throughout North Texas. 

We are also collaborating with the Meals on Wheels Association of Texas to determine how we can best serve our fellow Meals on Wheels providers and their clients living in hurricane and flood-affected areas.
