Online Volunteer Portal Update!
We’ve been sharing our excitement about a new online tool called the Volunteer Portal that will help you quickly and easily self-schedule meal deliveries. We can’t wait for you to use it! In-person training takes place this week and next week. We also sent out a simple video training on this new tool, which can be found here in case you missed it. More information, including details about how to log in, will be hitting your inboxes on November 12, so stay tuned!
In preparation for this new volunteer tool, our Drop Site Managers will follow a new process, and we want to make sure you are in the loop! Starting 11/1, make sure you allow an extra minute or two to personally check in with your Drop Site Manager and grab a manifest from them before picking up your meals. Your Drop Site Manager will check your name off of a list, or add your name if you are not the scheduled driver. Thank you for your patience in this new process!
We are confident with your support, this technology initiative will help us deliver more meals and recruit new volunteers, allowing the VNA Meals on Wheels program to grow! Begin a Holiday Tradition of Delivering Meals on Wheels
It’s that time of year again! VNA Meals on Wheels staff is preparing for our upcoming special holiday deliveries. Last year, VNA Meals on Wheels delivered more than 1.6 million meals to homebound seniors in Dallas County—and that doesn’t stop on Thanksgiving and Christmas! We invite you and your family to experience the joy of spending your holiday morning and sharing the spirit of giving with our senior neighbors in need.
Holiday delivery dates and times are as follows:
Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, November 22, 2018, pick up from 8:45 am - 9:45 am Christmas Day — Tuesday, December 25, 2018, pick up from 8:45 am - 9:45 am Martin Luther King, Jr. Day — Monday, January 21, 2019, pick-up times vary depending on location

Keeping Our Seniors Warm This Winter - Heater Drive Underway A Little Earlier This Year!
We truly appreciate your help delivering meals as the temperatures plunge. Normally, we begin our space heater drive in January, but due to the onset of colder temperatures, our heater drive is NOW underway! If you are interested in donating a new space heater to help keep our seniors warm this winter, please drop off your donation between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm to our Haggerty location at 1440 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247.
