Closings: Holidays & Inclement Weather
If freezing rain and or snow is predicted, the President/Chief Executive Officer and the Vice President of Meals on Wheels will make a collective decision by 11:00 p.m. to cancel meal delivery for the next day. Notification is given to appropriate news and radio stations for a public service announcement of the meal program closure. Volunteer program staff also change their voicemail messages to reflect non-delivery and make every effort to notify volunteers via e-mail. Clients who call the VNA Meals on Wheels switchboard will be instructed to eat one of their shelf stable meals. Delivery will resume the following business day unless inclement weather continues.
The VNA Meals on Wheels office will be closed on the following dates, and there will be no meal deliveries:
