The goal of Meals on Wheels is to help seniors maintain independence in their homes by providing daily meals that are both tasty and nutritious. Proper nutrition and hydration are key elements that can possibly prevent hospitalizations or even placement in long-term care facilities. The nutrition requirements of our meals are controlled by the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs), as adopted by the state of Texas. Each meal is required to meet a minimum of 1/3 daily nutritional requirements for older adults.
