VNA’s expanded kitchen increased production capacity to 14,000 meals a day in the new building. Demand for nutritious home delivered meals is high as seniors continue to struggle with hunger and the lack of resources to provide for themselves. This epidemic of senior hunger will only continue to grow as our population ages. VNA is taking the necessary steps to plan for this future demand.
The VNA Meals on Wheels program prepares and delivers more than one million meals annually to the hungry and homebound in Dallas County. We rely on thousands of volunteers to touch the lives of these individuals by delivering the meals and interacting with them. This may be the only human contact our clients have all day.
