Specialized Care for Your Individual Needs

VNA Wound Care is coordinated through a VNA registered nurse with:

  • Certification in Wound/Ostomy/Continence care (CWOCN)
  • 33 years nursing experience – 20 years with VNA
  • Years of hospital experience, both in ICU and general nursing
  • Treatment focused on your:
    • Disease and diet management education
    • Healing
    • Independence
    • Overall quality of life
  • All nurses are KCI Wound V.A.C.® trained

Professionals Provide You with Quality Care, Including:

Wound Care

  • Consulting on all complicated wounds to allow you to remain in your home for wound recovery
  • Recommending wound care plans

Stoma Care

  • Visiting all new ostomy patients
  • Visiting all existing ostamates with stoma complications
  • Assisting you with self-management and choosing appropriate appliance(s)
  • Instruction and assistance in ordering ostomy supplies
  • Stoma site marking

Continence Care

  • Providing consult for catheter management to minimize urinary tract infections
  • Instruction in catheter care
  • Instruction in nutrition/hydration in lifestyle management

A Teaching Approach to Patient Care

Essential components of VNA’s approach to delivering your wound care include:

  • Professionally trained and certified personnel
  • Timely communication with all involved in your care
  • Teaching you to be independent in your healthcare
  • Ongoing staff training
  • Large resource of supplies
  • After-hours unit for patients

The VNA nurse and treatment team will assist you and your family with:

  • Recognizing signs and symptoms of worsening of disease
  • Providing on-call nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to assist with complications when on VNA service
  • Advising when additional services might be needed
