VNA Meals on Wheels
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, our Thanksgiving and Christmas routes are all filled up for 2009!
Monday through Friday, throughout the year, VNA Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver a warm, nutritious meal to the homebound and hungry. Our volunteers also provide personal contact for some of our community’s most isolated seniors.
VNA Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers deliver once a week, once a month, or through their employer’s Day of Caring Program. Click here to view special programs. The volunteer provides the transportation, including gasoline, and VNA provides the opportunity to be needed, to feel appreciated and to count your blessings.
Meals for each route are packed out in two coolers (hot and cold foods) and delivered to multiple locations throughout Dallas County. A typical route serves 10 to 12 clients and takes about two hours to deliver in the late morning hours.
