For the 11th consecutive year, VNA proudly presents the Power of Pie event, sponsored by Interabang Books!  Check pies and pumpkin bread off your to-do list by purchasing your pumpkin and pecan pies and pumpkin bread TODAY and support North Texas seniors.

With 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), this grassroots event has raised more than $500,000 since its inception. Power of Pie was born of the idea that pie is a truly special thing—it stands out amongst practically all other foods as a symbol of comfort, home, and family, especially during Thanksgiving. Your purchase of pies and bread feeds more than folks at your Thanksgiving table. It provides food, friendship, and comforting care to homebound and seriously ill neighbors.

It’s that time of year again for VNA Meals on Wheels to start preparing for our upcoming HOLIDAY DELIVERIES!

On Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, our volunteers deliver hot meals to more than 4,800 clients throughout Dallas County. This year, our holiday delivery dates will be:

• Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, November 23, 2023 (Deadline to sign up: Friday, 11/17/23)
• Christmas delivery — Friday, December 22, 2023 (Deadline to sign up: Friday, 12/15/23)

For Thanksgiving and Christmas, pick up times will be staggered so you can choose to pick up between 8:30 AM-9:30 AM or 9:30 AM-10:30 AM in the Community Partners of Dallas parking lot located at 7950 Elmbrook Drive, Dallas, TX 75247.

Any route that is not picked up by 10:45AM will be reassigned to another volunteer.

We continue to work to provide additional resources for our VNA Meals on Wheels clients. Currently, we are out of stock on the following high-need items for our pet clients for our November pet food delivery. We currently have 162 cats and 311 dogs in our pet program. Please consider donating one of these items today to fulfill these outstanding requests from our clients:

• Dry cat food

• Wet cat food

• Wet dog food

Visit our Amazon Wish List. These items will be sent directly to our VNA Haggerty Kitchen and delivered to our seniors.

The 2023-2024 VNA Meals on Wheels Teen Board officially kicked off on Sunday, October 9th!  This year’s Teen Board includes 94 teens from 19 schools throughout the Dallas area.  We are looking forward to a great year of service!

Turn your Wi-Fi off while you’re away from home/work and don’t have a network to connect to.

This can sometimes cause issues with apps when you have Wi-Fi on and your phone is trying to find a connection that’s not there.  Go into Settings: Wi-Fi. Make sure the toggle is switched off (or grey).

You can go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the new version of the app.
