We are honored to share that the VNA Hospice Team has been named Nonprofit Team of the Year (Mega) in D CEO‘s 2026 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards, presented in partnership with the Communities Foundation of Texas. Winners were revealed at an awards event celebrating the organizations, professionals, and companies making a difference across North Texas.
This recognition honors the compassionate, collaborative care our hospice team provides every day. As D CEO shared in its announcement, the Hospice Team at Visiting Nurse Association of Texas walks alongside families during life’s most difficult moments, providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care when it’s needed most.
Honoring the Work of Children’s Haven
The award also spotlights Children’s Haven, North Texas’ only dedicated nonprofit pediatric hospice program. Through Children’s Haven, our team creates heartbeat recordings, handprint keepsakes, and even celebrates Christmas in July for children who may not live to see the holidays — helping families create lasting memories while surrounding them with support, hope, and love.
A Team Effort
This honor belongs to every member of our interdisciplinary hospice team — the nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, Certified Child Life Specialists, therapists, bereavement professionals, and volunteers who work together to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and families across North Texas.
