Two Delicious Ways to Support North Texas Seniors
|
VNA’s iconic Cocktails in the Kitchen fundraising event will feature James Beard Award Winner, Chef and Restauranteur Iliana de la Vega and her daughter, cultural anthropologist and journalist Isabel Torrealba, to share an evening of Mexican-inspired food and drink, as well as a conversation about how Mexican food has influenced American culture. This event will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the VNA Meals on Wheels Haggerty Kitchen where more than 6,500 meals are prepared each weekday for homebound seniors and senior centers throughout Dallas County. Event Co-Chairs for Cocktails in the Kitchen are Dr. Candace Evans and Christian Evans and Alyce and Clifton Miller.
More information and tickets can be purchased at www.vnatexas.org/cocktailsinthekitchen
VNA’s annual Celebrity Chef event will be held on March 29, 2023, featuring James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award-Winner, Chef Martin Yan. The lunch and dinner events, now in the 13th year, is one of the most celebrated events in Dallas bringing together generous supporters to experience featured chef-inspired gourmet meals expertly prepared by The Food Company to raise vital funds for VNA Meals on Wheels and Hospice Care. Co-Chairs for Celebrity Chef are Effie and Brian Dennison and Michelle Chase and Elliot Zimmer. The Perot Family are serving as the honorary chairs for the event.
Chef Yan has been teaching Americans the art of Chinese cookery for more than 40 years. The phrase “If Yan can cook, so can you!” is one the television personality, cookbook author, restauranteur and now YouTube host, has used as his guiding light. Chef Yan has promised to teach us the art of Chinese cuisine and to share his experience as one of the first Asian-Americans to host a cooking show in the United States. Tickets, table sponsorships and event information can be found at www.vnatexas.org/celebritychef
With the VNA Foundation covering event expenses, 100% of proceeds from Cocktails in the Kitchen and Celebrity Chef will directly support the organization’s mission to help seniors live with dignity and independence at home.
