VNA’s Holiday Adopt-A-Senior Program Needs Your Help!
|
Volunteer elves have been hard at work all summer preparing for our Holiday Adopt a Senior event! Each of our 4,500 Meals on Wheels clients will receive a holiday gift filled with wrapped toiletry items including shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush, soap, a washcloth, and socks. The gifts will be delivered on Christmas morning along with their hot holiday meal.
While we need donations of all the items, we are in particular need of full-size bottles of shampoo. Can you help? We need 3,000 bottles of shampoo to fill our gift bags. If you would like to order these items on Amazon, visit our Amazon Wishlist.
For more information on how you can Adopt a Senior, please click here to download an informational flyer.

A Full Fall is Upon Us
There really is not a “slow” time of year for our work here at VNA, but this fall is full of exciting opportunities and events helping us enhance our mission. I’d like to personally invite you to join us to take part in the season.
September 20: A Look Back and a Look Forward with Palliative Care Virtual Lunch and Learn Join us virtually to hear from VNA clinical leaders, Olivia Rogers, RN, Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer and Sarah Miles, RN, BSN, Director of Quality and Palliative Care, as they review data related to VNA’s participation in a Medicare pilot for home-based palliative care. Learn how the outcomes data, along with new regulations at the state level, are informing VNA’s future palliative care service.
September 22: North Texas Giving Day Give with purpose to VNA and other community organizations you support! Our goal is to raise $200,000 for VNA’s important mission.
November: Power of Pie Purchase pumpkin and pecan pies and pumpkin bread for your Thanksgiving celebration and you’ll be serving up much-needed help for North Texas seniors. 100% of proceeds benefit VNA Meals on Wheels, Hospice and Palliative Care. Place your order by Nov. 18 for pick up Nov. 22 or 23.
Thank you for the incredible impact you make on the lives of those we serve. Have a safe and joyful fall.
