VNA SafeHaven curriculum incorporates expressive arts so that kids and teens can safely communicate their thoughts and feelings.
Kids and teens in VNA SafeHaven play age-appropriate games that allow them to express their feelings in a safe and fun environment.
In VNA SafeHaven, kids and teens create hands-on projects to help them in their grieving process, such as collages, necklaces and memory boxes.
Kids and teens who attend VNA SafeHaven have the opportunity to draw or write about their feelings in a personal journal.
Each week at VNA SafeHaven, adults meet in their own group, separate from kids and teens, with a licensed professional counselor.
At the end of each six-week cycle, VNA SafeHaven participants release balloons in honor of their loved ones. After the balloon release, families celebrate together with food and fellowship.
