Who We Are

VNA Holiday Meals on Wheels

Spending a couple of hours on Christmas morning making the holiday brighter for VNA Meals on Wheels clients is a time-honored tradition in Dallas. This past Christmas morning, Dallas volunteers continued that tradition, delivering meals to 4,231 homebound, hungry seniors.

This was the 27th Christmas of VNA Meals on Wheels volunteering, and more than 1,200 volunteers took part, as families and groups from organizations like the Dallas Sai Center, Plano Amateur Radio Club, Temple Emanu El Brotherhood, Metropolitan Baptist, Victory Temple, and Living Testimony Baptist delivered 370 VNA Meals on Wheels routes all over Dallas County.

The tremendous generosity of time displayed by the Christmas morning volunteers is a wonderful benefit to VNA Meals on Wheels. Every route delivered by volunteers instead of paid drivers saves VNA Meals on Wheels enough money to feed a hungry, homebound senior for a week. In just one morning, our volunteers saved enough money to feed seven more seniors for an entire year.
