Outgoing CEO Katherine Krause announced her retirement in February, the release added. In July, the VNA Board of Directors unanimously voted Culak, a longtime resident of the Kessler Park neighborhood, to the position. He currently serves as the organization’s vice president and chief of strategy and development.

“I am grateful for the board’s thorough process in choosing the next president and CEO for the Visiting Nurse Association,” Culak stated in the release. “I am honored, humbled and blessed to have the opportunity to lead this impactful, relevant organization into the future.”

Culak will take office Sept. 1 as Krause retires after 12 years in the role.

“Chris is a tremendous leader and has demonstrated a passion for serving others throughout his career,” VNA board chairman Kevin Eden said. “He is the perfect person to lead this next chapter of VNA’s story — a story with humble beginnings over 90 years ago, to a dynamic institution serving more than 7,500 senior clients, seriously ill patients and their families across 16 counties each day. Chris will embody the organization’s core values, carry forward the best of Katherine’s tenure, and continue to expand the mission and reach of VNA.”
