The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is a nonprofit that has played a critical role in community-based health care since 1934. We provide hospice and palliative care, nutritious meals and social connection for homebound seniors, and serve as the premier aging resource for North Texas.
VNA has been on the front lines of community-based health care since 1934
VNA was the first nonprofit hospice provider in the state of Texas in 1978 and first to pilot Medicare-sponsored home-based palliative care in North Texas in 2018
VNA Meals on Wheels delivers more than just a meal; we deliver $10.4 million in annual health care savings for the more than 4,600 seniors we serve
VNA fosters healthier communities as our aging population grows. We help North Texans live happier, healthier lives with dignity and respect. We are proud to be a leading nonprofit, supported by the community since 1934. We are the most experienced and trusted health care provider for the aging, and we combat food insecurity among seniors with our Meals on Wheels program.
As her mother became ill, Barbara made the difficult decision to move her from her home in Louisiana to an assisted living facility in McKinney closer to family. Over time, her mother Neva’s health began to decline. Neva began experiencing frequent falls and going in and out of the hospital. That’s when Barbara called VNA to provide the comfort and care Neva and her family needed.
“They just became an extension of our family.”
– Barbara, daughter of a VNA Hospice patient
