VNA Texas Kids Camp
Welcome to the Visiting Nurse Association’s (VNA) Meals on Wheels Kids Camp!
Are you looking for a meaningful experience for your 8-11 year-old this summer? The Visiting Nurse Association has a great opportunity! Our camp was created to empower the next generation of volunteers and philanthropists by teaching campers:
- The reality of senior hunger in our community
- The importance of good nutrition
- How to combat social isolation
- The gift of volunteerism
Who can attend? The Meals on Wheels Kids Camp is for children 8-11 years old. Each camp is limited to 20 campers.
When are the camps? Each camp is one day and will be hosted on the following days:
- Tuesday, June 11 from 9:30 am-2:30 pm
- Tuesday, June 18 from 9:30 am-2:30 pm
- Tuesday, June 25 from 9:30 am-2:30 pm
- Tuesday, July 9 from 9:30 am-2:30 pm
Where is the camp held? At the Visiting Nurse Association’s Haggerty Kitchen at 1440 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75247. During the day, campers will be transported to deliver Meals on Wheels.
How much is the camp? The registration fee for EACH camp and camper is $50.00. (registration is not a tax-deductible gift, but additional donations can be made.)
What will my child do? Campers will tour the Meals on Wheels kitchen, learn more about senior hunger, deliver Meals on Wheels, participate in craft and assembly projects, and enjoy a sack lunch provided by parent and snacks provided by VNA. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.
How do I register my child? A parent or guardian must pre-register their child and sign all necessary waivers. You’ll click the registration link below AND the payment link below to complete fully register your child(ren). Please complete a separate form for each sibling if enrolling more than one child. A child may register for more than one date; however, the curriculum will be the same each day. Once the registration form is completed, you will need to complete the registration payment by clicking here. Payment must be made within 5 business days of receiving the payment link. If payment is not made, the space will be released for other campers.
