April is Global Volunteer Month!
|
During Global Volunteer Month, we celebrate each one of YOU who choose to uplift, support, and stand beside our senior community. Your compassion is more than a service – it’s a lifeline.
Every visit, every conversation, every shared moment brings connection to someone who may feel overlooked or alone. You remind our seniors that they are valued, respected, and never forgotten.
Because of you:
- Isolated seniors feel companionship
- Communities grow stronger
- Wisdom and stories are preserved
- Dignity is honored
Your kindness bridges generations. Your presence brings joy. Your commitment creates a world where aging is met with dignity, warmth, and human connection.
Thank you for showing up with open hearts and steady hands. Thank you for treating every senior with the care and respect they deserve. And thank you for proving – day after day – that service is one of the most powerful gifts we can offer.
From July 2025 – March 2026, you’ve helped us deliver more than 930,000 meals to homebound and disabled senior neighbors!
You are appreciated and making a difference that truly matters!
If you have not already had the opportunity to join us for a volunteer appreciation event, we have three remaining opportunities:
- Monday, April 27th from 2 pm – 3:30 pm
Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 N. Story Rd., Irving
- Tuesday, April 28th from 2 pm – 3:30 pm

Bank of America’s 14th Annual Day of Caring
|
During the month of April, we had the pleasure of welcoming back volunteers from Bank of America for their 14th Annual Day of Caring with VNA Meals on Wheels. Bank of America volunteers helped deliver hope to more than 1,000 Dallas County seniors.
By partnering with VNA, the volunteers representing Bank of America and their families were able to make a positive impact on the Dallas County community by delivering 1,046 meals to our clients, equal to a cost savings of $1,646.25. Thank you again to the Bank of America team for your continued support, and we look forward to hosting your team again in the future!
For every route delivered by a volunteer, we can feed a senior for an entire week!
If you and your group are interested in partnering with VNA Meals on Wheels, please contact our Community Health & Engagement Coordinator Yakia McKinnie at yakia.mckinnie@vnatexas.org or 214-689-2464.

VNA Teen Board Wraps Up a Year of Meaningful Service
|
For our final service project of the school year, our Teen Board volunteered at the Jubilee Park & Community Center Easter event – and it was an amazing experience!
Teen board members helped with the egg hunt, face painting, setting up activities, and handing out Easter baskets to families. A special highlight was member Ozzie dressing up as the Easter Bunny, spreading smiles, high-fives, and lots of fun!
We’re so proud of our teen board members for making the day special for the Jubilee community!
Please keep an eye out in mid-August for Teen Board applications for the 2026-2027 school year.
