North Texas Giving Day is Almost Here (September 18th)
|
We’re excited to join North Texas Giving Day for the 16th year!
Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $200,000 last year to support Meals on Wheels and Hospice Care—vital programs that bring comfort, dignity, and care to our community.
This year, we’re aiming high again! With 100% of your gift going directly to local nonprofits (thanks to Communities Foundation of Texas covering all fees), every dollar makes a difference.
Join us in reaching our goal—make your gift today: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/vna-meals-on-wheels-and-hospice-care

Volunteers, We Want to Hear From You
|
Group Highlight of the Month
|
During the month of August, we had the pleasure of welcoming a team of over 40 volunteers from Texas Capital for our meal delivery “Day of Caring” as they celebrate their company’s commitment to positively impacting their community.
As a respected financial institution, Texas Capital is committed to making a difference in communities they work, live, and play. By volunteering with us, the volunteers representing Texas Capital were able to make a positive impact on the Dallas County community by delivering 215 meals to our clients, equal to a cost savings of $268.75. Thank you again to the staff at Texas Capital for partnering with us, and we look forward to hosting your team again in the future!
If you and your group is interested in partnering with VNA Meals on Wheels, please contact our Community Health & Engagement Coordinator Yakia McKinnie at yakia.mckinnie@vnatexas.org or 214-689-2464.

Thank You for Making VNA Kids Camp a Summer to Remember
|
This summer, 44 young hearts stepped up to make a difference during the 2025 VNA Meals on Wheels Kids Camp!
Throughout June and July, campers ages 8 to 11 rolled up their sleeves and participated in a unique day of service and learning. From delivering hot meals to homebound seniors in Oak Cliff, to crafting kindness flowers and learning how to combat loneliness in our community, each camper gained hands-on experience in compassion, service, and empathy.
The smiles were contagious. The conversations were meaningful. And the impact? Truly lasting — both for our senior neighbors and for the next generation of volunteers and philanthropists.
We are especially grateful to Les Dames d’Escoffier Dallas Chapter for sponsoring this year’s camp, along with our volunteer counselors and all those who helped make this program possible.
Thank you for helping us turn one summer day into a lifelong lesson in kindness.
We can’t wait for the 2026 VNA Kids Camp!
