New Medically Tailored Meals Pilot
VNA is proud to launch a new Medically Tailored Meals program, supported by the Meals on Wheels America Association (MOWAA). Running from January to August 2025, this initiative will provide specialty meals crafted by healthcare professionals and licensed dietitians to clients with cardiovascular disease. The new program aims to improve health outcomes and manage chronic illnesses through targeted nutrition.
Taking a Shot at the Flu
During the fall, VNA successfully administered more than 600 flu vaccines through our comprehensive outreach efforts. Our program included both in-home flu vaccinations for Meals on Wheels clients and flu vaccine clinics, which were held in collaboration with valuable community partners. By offering these services from September to December, we aimed to protect our community from the flu and promote overall public health. Our efforts were particularly focused on reaching vulnerable populations, making it easier for them to receive this essential preventative care.

A Year of Celebration
VNA celebrated 90 years of service with a concert performed by the legendary Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys under the direction of Jason Roberts, a Board of Directors Reception, and a family day for our staff. We loved spending time with our longtime supporters, board members, volunteers, and staff to share stories and experiences of VNA over the years.
Serving more Seriously ill Children
Providing comfort and care for children as they suffer from life-limiting illnesses – while also supporting their siblings and parents – is vital and special work. VNA’s Children’s Haven Pediatric Hospice program launched in 2021 to provide this desperately needed service throughout North Texas. Thanks to the generous support of our community, we’ve expanded to serve more children and families, with 97 patients served in 2024. This compassionate care extends beyond the patient, with our Certified Child Life Specialist, Chaplains, and Social Workers supporting 242 siblings of seriously ill patients. This lifeline to families facing the unimaginable heartache of losing a child is such a vital part of our work. In 2025, we expect to need additional support for families that don’t have insurance or the ability to pay, and to serve even more children in rural areas where this service is not currently available.
