Happy National Volunteer Month!
|
Dear Volunteers,
As we celebrate National Volunteer Month, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you. Your time, energy, and compassion are the heart of everything we do at VNA Meals on Wheels.
Whether you’re behind the scenes or on the front lines, your efforts bring comfort, nourishment, and connection to those who need it most. You don’t just support our mission—you inspire it.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Volunteer Appreciation events last week! We loved seeing your smiles, hearing your stories, and watching you connect through activities like writing notes on our Gratitude Wall, touring the kitchen, and making cards for clients. Your presence truly made the event special.
We know your time is valuable, and we’re honored that you choose to spend it with us. Your impact—big or small—is felt every day, and we are so thankful for all that you do.
With sincere gratitude, The VNA Meals on Wheels Volunteer Team
P.S. Our Gratitude Wall will be up for the rest of the month—stop by and add your thoughts!

Thank You 2024-2025 Teen Board!
|
What a wonderful Teen Board year we’ve had! We are so incredibly grateful for the energy, compassion, and dedication each of our teens brought to every project. From distributing groceries at Brother Bill’s Helping Hands to creating Easter baskets for the families at Jubilee Park, your service made a meaningful difference in our community.
Though our Teen Board term has officially come to an end, we remain deeply thankful for the impact you’ve made—and we encourage the next generation to carry that spirit of giving forward. Thank you to every teen, parent, and supporter who helped make this year such a success. We truly couldn’t have done it without you!
We’re already looking forward to what’s ahead.
Save the date: The 2025-2026 Teen Board Application will officially open on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Bank of America – Our April Community Champion Group
|
This month, Bank of America employees participated in the 13th Annual Bank of America Meal Delivery Event held at Fair Park. We had the pleasure of welcoming over 160 employees and their family members for their annual Day of Caring event. As active members of the community, Bank of America continues to go above and beyond to provide much-needed services in the Dallas area. On Friday, April 18th, the Bank of America team served over 900 clients by delivering over 1,200 meals in our highest-need areas of Dallas County. Bank of America has continuously dedicated itself to making a positive impact in the areas where they work, live, and play. By volunteering with us, Bank of America was able to help VNA Meals on Wheels with cost savings of over $1,900. We would like to extend our gratitude to the volunteers and family members of Bank of America for partnering with us and providing constant support for the VNA Meals on Wheels program through various volunteer activities. We are looking forward to hosting this great team again next year!
Remember every day is a great opportunity to bring joy and compassion to our senior neighbors in Dallas County who are in need! If you’re interested in delivering meals, please contact the Volunteer Team at volunteer@vnatexas.org to register for a route. Deliveries take place from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Typically, meal deliveries take about an hour to an hour and a half, making it easy to fit them into your lunch break.
Don’t want to deliver alone? Feel free to bring a friend, family member, or co-worker to join you! We are always looking for new volunteers and groups to join the thousands of volunteers who are already delivering.
