Dallas County to spend nearly $50 million on local nonprofits

Dozens of nonprofits across Dallas County feel better prepared to serve the community for the holidays and in the years to come because of millions in extra dollars from county grants.

Dallas County appropriated nearly $50 million to 34 local nonprofits.

Without Congress’ American Rescue Protection Act funds, nonprofits who spoke with The Dallas Morning News shared that their long-term goals would be delayed, preventing them from helping as many folks as needed. Inflation has driven up operational and staffing costs.
